About Me

Mahmud Rahat

Developing With a Passion While Exploring The World.

I am a legal researcher, academic professional, mooting trainer, and human rights advocate with a strong commitment to the advancement of legal education, research, human rights, and access to justice. My professional journey is centered on bridging the gap between legal theory and practical application while encouraging young legal minds to engage critically with contemporary legal and policy issues.

I serve as the Founder of the Bangladesh Society for Human Rights Law Studies (BSHRLS), an initiative dedicated to promoting research, discussion, and academic engagement in the fields of human rights, law, justice, and public policy. Through this platform, I seek to create opportunities for students, researchers, academics, and legal professionals to contribute to meaningful conversations on emerging legal and societal challenges.

I am also associated with the Journal of Law, Policy and Justice (JLPJ) as Managing Editor, where I work to promote scholarly legal writing, rigorous research, and interdisciplinary academic discourse. My editorial work involves encouraging quality legal scholarship and creating a platform for researchers to explore evolving questions of law, policy, governance, and justice.

As a Legal Researcher, my interests extend across legal research, human rights, constitutional and public law, legal policy, justice-sector issues, and contemporary developments in law. I am particularly interested in research that does not remain confined to theory but contributes to practical understanding, policy development, institutional reform, and social justice.

I am also a Mooting Trainer, passionate about developing the advocacy, legal research, analytical reasoning, and oral argumentation skills of aspiring law students. Through mooting, I help students understand how to transform legal research into persuasive arguments, analyze complex legal issues, construct well-supported submissions, and present their positions with confidence before a simulated court.

Beyond research and training, I regularly engage with legal education, academic discussions, conferences, seminars, and public speaking. As a Keynote Speaker, I aim to inspire students and young professionals to think beyond conventional approaches to legal education and develop themselves as responsible, ethical, research-oriented members of the legal community.

My broader professional mission is to contribute to a stronger culture of legal research, human rights advocacy, academic excellence, mooting, and justice-oriented legal education in Bangladesh and beyond.
